                   Brian Lewis was born in Kensington/London in 1937; his early years were spent in London during the Blitz. He spent his school days in Coney Hall /West Wickham, where he first discovered his love of Fine Art. Famous Artists such as Rembrandt and Monet, and later David Shepherd and Roland Hilder inspired him.

 

                    He painted as an enthusiastic amateur until 1982, when he left his job to set up his own art business in Maidstone in Kent. He produces fine art from the depths of his own personality .His work is outstandingly traditional in concept, subject and technique.

 

Over the years Brian has primarily painted Kent Villages and Churches. Brian has never had any formal training, but appreciates that his ability is a natural gift and has sold many Paintings, Limited Editions and Open Edition prints. Brian has also set up an evening school class, which students from all backgrounds attend.

 

As an investment artist, the style of Brian’s work is traditionalist. He is versatile in any medium that he chooses, and is able to paint in Oils, Watercolour and Pastel. Some of his work has been sold worldwide to private collectors.

 

Although born in London, Brian has lived in Kent for over 40 years and is best known for his paintings of the Kent countryside. He also spends much of his time painting commission work, for example, portraits and memorabilia.

 

Although now in his 70th year Brian is still pro- active and continues to paint his beloved ‘Garden of England’.
